All the data, in one place

Every cvforge plan — including Free — has access to the same data sources. Plans differ in how often you can call them (the hourly request limit), whether you get a personal API key for use outside the app, and access to historical options bars.

The data is served by ConvexValue’s backend at tap.convexvalue.com/api/data — the data service used by the ConvexValue Terminal. Options snapshots come from Massive (formerly Polygon.io); company and market data comes from Financial Modeling Prep. You never need accounts or keys with either vendor.

Coverage & freshness

  • Options universe: every optionable U.S. stock and ETF, plus the index option families I:SPX, I:VIX, I:NDX, I:RUT, and I:XSP. The symbol universe refreshes daily.
  • Snapshot freshness: the options snapshot is ingested continuously and the serving database is refreshed about once a minute. Open interest updates once daily after the close (that’s how the exchanges publish it).
  • Options pricing: fair_market_value is Massive’s proprietary estimate and the only current per-contract valuation field. cvforge does not provide option bid/ask quotes, midpoint, quote sizes, NBBO, or last trades.
  • FMP freshness: varies by dataset — quotes and price data are delayed, fundamentals update as companies file. Details are on the pricing page catalog and per-endpoint in the FMP reference.

Three ways to reach everything

  • In an app you build in cvforge — the cvApi client is preloaded in every app.
  • From a coding agent — the MCP server exposes each dataset as a tool (already wired up inside cvforge).
  • From anywhere else — the REST API with your personal API key (Go and Research plans).
