CVForge AI & credits

CVForge AI is the built-in agent: a chat pane that builds and edits your apps with no CLI, no AI subscription, and no configuration. It exists so you can use cvforge even if you’ve never installed a coding agent — and it’s available on every plan.

Using the chat

• Model picker — choose from a curated catalog (currently including Claude Sonnet and Haiku, GPT, and Gemini models; the lineup evolves). Your pick is remembered per app.
• Transcript — shows the agent’s replies, collapsible reasoning, and each tool call it makes (with success/failure marks) so you can see what it actually did.
• Composer — Enter sends, Shift+Enter adds a line, Stop aborts mid-response, New chat starts a fresh session (sessions persist per app).

How credits work

CVForge AI is metered by a prepaid credit balance — separate from your data plan, with no subscription and no expiry mechanics to babysit:

• Credits are denominated in dollars (tracked in millionths of a dollar, so tiny calls bill precisely).
• Each model call is debited at the provider’s metered cost plus a fixed margin; heavier models and longer conversations cost more.
• When the balance runs out, the chat shows a Buy credits banner; nothing else in cvforge stops working.
• Buy one-time credit packs from your account page (via Stripe checkout). Packs currently start at $5.

The account page also shows your balance, 30-day usage (calls, tokens, spend, per-model breakdown), and a per-call history — so you always know where credits went.

It’s an API too

The same gateway powering the chat is exposed as an OpenAI-compatible endpoint you can call with your cv_live_ API key — one balance, one bill, any OpenAI SDK:

• GET /ai/models — the current model catalog and default.
• GET /ai/balance — your balance in micro-USD.
• Streaming (SSE) and non-streaming both work; an empty balance returns 402 with a pointer to the account portal.
