Custom Options Screener — Build Any Filter

Describe the contract fields, comparisons, controls, and ranking you want. Your AI builds a local screener with cvforge's U.S. options snapshot already connected—no separate market-data account and no fixed filter menu.

Free data plan: 20 requests per hour, no card. Paid plans raise request limits; Research adds historical options bars.

Option pricing is Massive fair market value (FMV), a proprietary estimate. cvforge does not provide option bid/ask quotes, midpoint, NBBO, or last trades.

A working result, not a browser demo

This cvforge-built table asks the server for contracts whose current-session volume exceeds open interest, returns the evidence fields, calculates the ratio in the app, and lets the user change the minimums. The result runs in the desktop app and stays available for later edits.

Custom cvforge options screener showing volume, open interest, Volume/OI, current IV, expiration, strike, and underlying spot
Snapshot

Serving data refreshes about once a minute; each page should show its refresh time.

Fields

Volume, open interest, current IV, Greeks, FMV estimate, contract terms, and underlying price.

Limits

Up to 16 filters, 4 sort keys, 32 columns, and 500 returned rows per screen request.

Start with a validated template

Each published template includes the exact prompt, a real cvforge output, the fields used, cadence, plan requirements, and limitations.

Template 1

Volume greater than open interest

A field-to-field filter with liquidity controls and an explicit explanation of the ratio's two clocks.

Template 2

Filter current implied volatility

A precise current-IV filter with DTE, delta, volume, and open-interest controls. No IV-rank claim.

Fundamentals plus options conditions

The data surfaces exist, but this page stays unpublished until the exact joined workflow and screenshot are reviewed under current plan limits.

When this is a fit

  • ✓ You need a filter, ratio, ranking, or layout that a fixed screener menu does not expose.
  • ✓ A snapshot that refreshes at research cadence is appropriate for the question.
  • ✓ You want to keep, edit, and rerun the tool locally.
  • ✓ You can inspect a shortlist before making your own decision.

When it is not

  • — You need trade-by-trade tape, aggressor-side classification, or millisecond updates.
  • — You want a model to predict direction or recommend a trade.
  • — You need order routing or broker execution inside the screener.
  • — You want an unverified historical statistic such as IV rank without defining its calculation.

Three ways to build

Plain English in cvforge. Start with the AI screener walkthrough, watch the app render, then change the controls and logic by talking to the agent.

The constrained API. Use the Options Screener API for market-wide filters and field comparisons without transferring the full snapshot.

Python or MCP. Follow the Python/API guide, or connect the stock market data MCP server to a compatible coding agent.

The free option is the builder

cvforge is not a free browser screener with a fixed set of controls. It is a free desktop app and Free data plan for building and running your own research tool. Download it, reproduce a template, and keep the result on your machine.

For research and education only. cvforge does not provide investment advice, trade recommendations, or order execution.
