cvforge documentation
cvforge is a free desktop app that pairs AI coding agents with live market data. You describe the tool you want in plain English — an options chain heatmap, a volatility surface, a cross-market scanner — and an agent builds it as a local app running against real data, live in a preview pane next to the conversation.
These docs cover everything: what the app does, every dataset you can reach, and every way to reach it — from inside the app, from your own coding agent via MCP, or from any program via the REST API.
Getting started Install the app, sign in, and build your first live market tool in about a minute. Desktop app guide The workspace, coding agents, checkpoints, the app gallery, CVForge AI, and settings. Data reference Every dataset available: the live options snapshot, screener, SQL, historical bars, and all 157 FMP endpoints. Developer API REST endpoints, the MCP server for coding agents, and the in-app cvApi client. Plans & limits What each plan includes, hourly request limits, and how AI credits work. FAQ Common questions about the app, the data, and billing.
The short version
- The app is free. Download it for macOS, Windows, or Linux on the downloads page. Data plans power what you build — see plans & limits.
- Bring any coding agent — Claude Code, Codex, and OpenCode run embedded in the app, or use the built-in CVForge AI with no setup at all.
- The data is already wired in. Live snapshots for every listed U.S. option — Massive FMV estimates, Greeks, IV, open interest, and volume — plus 157 endpoints of fundamentals, filings, estimates, news, and macro data. Option bid/ask quotes and NBBO are not included. No vendor accounts, no API-key juggling.
- Everything you build is yours. Apps are single HTML files saved on your machine, versioned with git-backed checkpoints, and shareable through the built-in gallery.
