Checkpoints

Every app folder is a real git repository under the hood. Checkpoints give you durable versions of your app without ever touching git yourself — the safety net that makes “let the agent try something wild” a reasonable idea.

Save

The Save button in the preview toolbar commits the current state. You’ll see “Saved ✓” — or “No changes” if nothing differs from the last checkpoint. Save whenever the app reaches a state you like.

History & restore

The History menu lists your checkpoints with relative timestamps and marks the one you’re on. Restore (with a confirm step) brings the app back to any of them:

  • The agent process is stopped first, so it can’t fight the restore.
  • A restore is itself recorded as a new commit — you can restore forward again; nothing is ever lost.
  • The preview reloads to the restored state immediately.

Good habits

  • Save before asking for a big redesign — restore beats re-prompting.
  • Agents are told to leave committing to you, so checkpoints match your decisions, not the agent’s.
  • Since it’s plain git, the folder also works with any git tooling you like (git log, diffs, remotes) — entirely optional.
