How to read it

Insider selling is one of the most over-read signals in the market, and the reason is that it is usually shown without context. Against the price, the pattern is easier to judge: scheduled sales look like a steady trickle regardless of price, discretionary ones cluster.

The important caveat is statutory. Filing-derived data arrives after the fact, so the chart is always a lagged view, and a sale can be pre-arranged months before it appears. Absence of recent filings is not evidence of absence of selling.

Change it

The prompt is the interface. Ask for a different ticker, a different expiration window, or an extra column in the same sentence style and the agent edits the app in place — you do not start over, and you do not wait for anyone to build it.

Limitations

  • Fundamentals arrive on the provider’s schedule, so the most recent quarter can lag the company’s own release.
  • Restatements and reclassifications are not always reflected retroactively in a single series.
  • Filing-derived data such as insider or institutional activity is reported with a statutory delay.
